Scientific American features Dr. Thomason’s insights on behavioral interventions to strengthen brain function

In a March 2015 posting in Scientific American, Dr. Thomason provided further understanding of findings that support altered neural responses in adolescents exposed to trauma in childhood. She states that we can look at the active brain to discover how it functions differently following maltreatment. Furthermore, she states that these findings indicate a use for brain function as a “prognostic indicator” of which children will go on to have negative (behavioral and physical) outcomes in adolescence.
